Andrea Rivas is a Mexican performing artist, dancer, and cultural manager. Her practice brings together creation, performance, and pedagogy from a body-centred perspective. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance from the Escuela Nacional de Danza Clásica y Contemporánea of the National Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Arts and Cultural Management at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany.
Her artistic work has developed through collaborations with international directors and choreographers, approaching the stage as a space for interdisciplinary exchange and body-based research. She has also presented her own choreographic work at festivals and cultural venues in Mexico and Europe.
In the pedagogical field, she teaches contemporary dance and improvisation, supporting creative processes focused on bodily awareness and collective and individual expression. Her trajectory also engages with cultural management, integrating organisational and curatorial tools into the development of independent performing arts projects.
